a cleric's journal

Contained within is the journal of Lelenia Maralyth Galanodel, daughter of Amaaera and Daeisar Galanodel, and cleric of Corellon Larethian.

Day 1: Today I was made a priestess of Corellon Larethian. I now go out to begin my first quest. I have been instructed to combat all evil and enemies of the Elves. My parents have given me this journal in which to record my journey ahead.

Day 2: I have made my way out of the ElvesÕ forest today. This is the first time IÕve been away from the temple, but I have seen enough of the other races to know of their customs. The human villages are so dirty compared to our Elven ones. There is a constant noise and bustle in these places, crying children, haggling adults, braying animals. Not at all like the peace I am used to. I will spend only a short time here.

Day 5: The human pickpocket I just decked counts as an enemy of the Elves, right?

Day 9: The humans of this village speak of a cult of goblins nearby. They say they are hiding in a castle just a short ways away. Perhaps this is the quest I seek. I shall investigate tomorrow.

Day 10: There were indeed many goblins out in the castle, but someone has been here before me and killed most of them. The corpses have been looted, perhaps a bandit gang? Lots of rats, though those are hardly a threat to any normal-sized creature. *sigh* This is not at all the grand adventure I expected it to be. I have however, discovered several strange bottles. Maybe one will contain a healing potion. I will have to examine them closely.

Day 11: I am writing this from the bottom of one of the bottles. Apparently there are more dangers out here than I thought.

Day 12: Am contemplating various ways to escape from the bottle.

Day 13: Still in the bottle. Very bored.

Day 14: I think I shall have a good, long cry now.

Day 15: I am freed! My saviors are an unlikely bunch, though. Two Elves, a ranger and a mage, and a kendermaid, who says she is, ÒShelzy Oakjumper, a bard, very pleased to meet you, wow, IÕve never seen anyone come out of a bottle before, can you show me how to do that?Ó They tell me that there used to be a dwarf as well, but he has vanished. I fear he may have fallen prey to the same trap as I did, but the bottle is nowhere to be found. Ah well. At least I now have discovered more Elves, though the mage looks rather young.
